David Maturo is a songwriter, producer, and composer who is drawn to sounds that remind people there is still wonder in this world, blending electronic pop production with orchestral influences.
Years of classical piano training instilled an awareness for the emotional weight any morsel of a song can carry. David eventually tried production.
Along the way, he found inspiration in Ellie Goulding, Imogen Heap, Girls’ Generation, and Perfume, as well as the studio craftsmanship of George Martin and the layered arrangements in Josh Groban’s recordings.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Belmont University’s Music Technology program, David’s goal is to create music that rekindles imagination, color, light, and hope in a world that could use a little more of each.

What drew you to consciousness

I’m drawn to consciousness research at the intersection of music because sound transcends commodification. Music holds a unique power to heal and map human consciousness and offers profound emotional and spiritual answers that some scientific equations and empirical data alone cannot fully capture.
